NOV24 SOLARKIDS

Remember I told you about the solar energy workshop that was held at our school? That was where most of the children's  portraits were taken. I had these photos ready a while ago, but I forgot to post them. Sorry about that. Here they are!

Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich mal von einem Solar Workshop mit unseren Schülern erzählt und davon, dass meine Fotos davon auch schon fertig für den nächsten Post waren. Naja, ich hatte sie leider zwischendurch irgendwie vergessen... Hier also nachträglich noch ein paar Fotos davon!

 

The kids loved this workshop. It was lots of fun for them and probably interesting, too. I can't really say whether or not because it was held in Khmer so, unfortunately, I couldn't follow what they were talking about. It was awesome, though, to see the children's fascination and I think they really profited from it.
They got to built their very own solar powered sunflowers which spin when exposed to sunlight and they got to use certain electronic devices to measure the sun's light. As you can see in the pictures they were very proud of their flowers! To them it felt like magic to be able to make the flower stop turning by shading the panels. Very adorable!

Die Kinder fanden den Workshop richtig toll. Sie hatten super viel Spaß und interessant war es sicher auch (das kann ich nur leider nicht beurteilen, weil der Workshop in Khmer war). Für mich war es toll, die Faszination der Kinder zu sehen und ich glaube auch, dass sie von diesem Event profitiert haben.
Sie durften ihre eigenen solarbetriebenen Dreh-Sonnenblumen basteln und elektronische Sonnenlicht-Messgeräte benutzen. Wie man auf den Bildern sehen kann, waren sie echt stolz auf ihre Blumen. Ein bisschen haben sie sich auch wie Zauberer gefühlt, die ihre Sonnenblumen anhalten konnten, nur indem sie ihre Hände über das Solarpanel halten. Sehr niedlich!
